A fun-filled experience! We had 2 nights on Halong Bay. Although there were too many tourists and boats around, the view of the bay was one of a kind. The day tour on the second day was much less crowded with kayaking and swimming activities. The crew members were all kind and polite. The manager was attentive and willing to help us at any time. Food was beautifully presented and of good quality. Surely recommend Victory Cruise!
The staff really made our stay. They are friendly and courteous. The rooms were compact yet clean. The food was amazing but the cocktail was just average. We visited a giant cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. The Titop beach was super crowded and the steps to the top of the mountain were sometimes uneven and steep. We tried kayaking the first time and the staff was helpful to show us. Thank you.
The cabin was nice with a large glass window. We had a neat and well-equipped room with an air-con, a private bathroom with bathrobes, towels, and toiletries,... Everything was alright and enjoyable except for the pollution issue. There was quite a lot of litter on the bay. We hope this will be handled soon.
The boat is old-style. There are not many modern facilities but your basic needs of food, beverage, accommodation, entertainment, and relaxation were fulfilled. Our cabin was small with a wooden floor and furniture. The bathroom has enough amenities and a standing shower. Food was good. There were only 2 bottles of water included and no more. Drinks were expensive.
Pros: Friendly staff, tasty food, incredible landscape. Cons: Tight schedule with many continuous activities, crowded excursions. Overall Halong Bay was a well worth visit and we rate this trip 7.5 out of 10.
