The ship itself looks beautiful from the outside to the inside. We love the room, the bed, food and majestic view of the bay. The drinks were great yet a bit pricey. We wish the boat had cruised for a longer time. We just have around 23 hours onboard, not 2 days and 1 night.
My family and I had 1 night on the Peony Cruise. The ship was clean and well appointed. Our rooms were on the second deck with a stunning view of the bay. The cruise manager Elvis was the best. He had good knowledge of the area and was very accommodating to our needs. Food was average but plentiful.
The trip went above my expectations. The food was fresh and yummy. The cabin was comfortable. The staff was attentive and professional. We love kayaking and the trip to the cave. The cooking demonstration with the rolls was interesting. Taichi was nice to start the day and enjoy the bay view in the morning. You may never want to miss the happy hour buy 1 get 1 to try some favorite cocktails. Otherwise, the drink price was pretty high. However, we thought it was similar to other cruises. Overall, everyone should try!
A good-size cruise ship with excellent activities. We booked 2 nights and there was no time to get bored. We also had a lot of time to rest and relax on the second day. Food was plentiful yet the vegetarian menu could be better and more varied. The staff was informative and helpful.
2 days 1 night on Peony was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and polite. Food was food with a great variety of options. Dinner was the best of all. Things were well organized and managed from the pick up to the check in and check out. Kayaking, trekking, and swimming were provided in the program. There was also a jacuzzi pool on the deck which was nice for taking a dip and enjoying the cocktails at sunset. This was among the best of our memories in Vietnam.
We booked 2 rooms with an extra bed for 5 of us. Service by staff was brilliant. They were very attentive and eager to help at any time. A shout out to Bobby and Ken. Food was varied and delicious. Highly recommend it to everyone!
Halong Bay was a must in Vietnam. The scenery was charming. Peony Cruise was styled as a traditional junk boat yet included many modern facilities to comfort your stay. We booked a Deluxe cabin which was well equipped and had a nice view and soft bed. The food was good. Activities were the same as many other boats and we had lots of relaxing time in the 2 night program. Thank you!
Questions and Answers (8)
I would like to know if the activities on day 2, on the day tour cruise, are optional. What happens if you decide to stay on the main boat for the day and just relax? Is it possible? Reading somewhere it is not and that you have to join the activities to go Cat Ba island, since the main boat does shut down, and you do not get even AC if you stay onboard. Is that correct?
Dear Julia, On the day, a tour cruise is optional. You can stay on the main boat and relax, no problem. And the main boat is not shutting down, still has electricity and AC to operate. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Hazel
What is the difference in the rooms between Deluxe Room with Private Balcony and the Premium Deluxe Room with Private Balcony? The pictures show the same in both, but the price is slightly different, so where is the difference please?
Dear Anna, The difference between those rooms is that the Premium Deluxe Room is on the second floor with more privacy and better view while the Deluxe room is on first floor. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Sincerely, Hazel
